OUR VINYL BUYING PROCESS AND APPROACH

Many record stores make the same claim when it comes to buying collections: Top Prices Paid!

But isn’t the way you are treated during the selling process something that should count just as much? We believe it is. (And, for the record, we do pay top prices for the right collections).

At the end of the day, our #1 goal is to make your record selling experience a satisfying one. We live by this slogan: “Our store is fueled by great records from great people.” We might not ever get your return business, since many people only sell a record collection once. But we will definitely treat you like we hope to see you again.

One very important thing to our customers is that almost all of the records we put out on the floor are clean and scuff- / scratch-free. Considering this, the condition of the records we buy can be as important as the titles and artists themselves.

Artists and album titles are very important, of course. We know our customers well and we know what types of music they get excited about. See our Artist and Record Label lists, below. Unsurprisingly, we pay the highest amount for albums that our customers find desirable that are also in great condition.

If you have additional questions after you check out the information below, please reach out. We hope to meet you soon and hear more about your collection.

“Great communication! Brian arrived on time to check out our record collection. We felt good about selling to him because he is very knowledgeable and truly appreciated our music.”

** FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS **

Do you buy Classical, Opera or Showtunes?

Unfortunately, we do not buy Classical music, Opera or ('50s & '60s) Showtunes. We do buy selected Soundtrack albums from the '60s - '90s.

Do you buy CDs and 78s?

We do not buy CDs or 78s.

Do you buy 45s, Cassettes and 8-Tracks?

We do buy 45s, selectively – usually not popular, major label hits of any era. But we are always interested in well-cared-for Reggae, Punk, African, Brazilian, Latin, Local (Boston / Massachusetts) and Soul / R & B 45 collections.

When it comes to Cassettes and 8-Tracks, we are also limited in what we can take on. We do buy them, though, with similar guidelines to the 45s listed previously.

Do you buy electronic equipment (turntables, receivers, speakers)?

We have to be very selective in the electronics we buy, because of the space they require to store and display. But we do buy some equipment, especially Technics 1200 (and other vintage direct drive) turntables, as well as vintage (‘60s and ‘70s) Sansui and Marantz receivers. We generally do not buy speakers.
